Family event ready to kick off 2023 with a bang
There’s going to be a party down at Spray Lake Family Sports Centre on New Years’ Eve as Cochranites ring in 2023.
The Cochrane and Area Events Society (CAES) has announced another year of family fun for this all-ages NYE event.
“It’s free for everybody to come down, they can go skating, they can go climbing, we’re gonna have craft stations, we’ll have the bouncers setup,” explains Kailey Mitchell with CAES.
Activities will be available indoors and outside for the event starting at 4 p.m. on December 31. Firepots, face painting, games, and even Spider-man will be joining in on the fun.
“We’re also gonna have a DJ on site and have a dance in the gym there with a balloon drop at six o’clock.”
What’s a New Years’ Eve party without fireworks? Cochranites can keep their eyes on the sky over the Jack Tennant Memorial Bridge for a spectacular show starting at 7 p.m.
“It’s a nice way to kind of include the kids with the 7 p.m. fireworks because not everybody can keep their kids up till midnight. It’s really worked really well over the past few years when we’ve done it.”
The fireworks show will be synced to a soundtrack playing on 91.5 FM CochraneNow.
