Two Cochrane summer events on hiatus for 2026

The Cochrane Pet Expo and Cochrane Food Fest are taking a break in 2026 as organizers work to restructure both events for a 2027 return. Kailey Mitchell.

Two of Cochrane’s most popular summer events are taking a break this year as organizers look towards the future.

Both the Cochrane Pet Expo and the Cochrane Food Fest will not take place in 2026. Event organizers announced the decision recently, noting the pause is necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of both events.

Focusing on the future

The decision to put the Cochrane Pet Expo on hold comes after several years of growth. Organizers say the break will allow them to “paws” and refocus on how the event is supported and delivered.

Evaluating Food Fest

The Cochrane Food Fest is also entering a period of evaluation. After five years of operation, the festival has grown significantly, leading organizers to re-examine its current structure and direction.
