Food lovers are gearing up for one of Cochrane’s tastiest traditions.
Taste of Cochrane is on tomorrow (Saturday, Oct 18) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a self-guided culinary tour through some of the community’s best restaurants, cafés and shops.
“It’s a great way to experience some of the new places or discover something you just haven’t had a chance to get to,” says Kailey Mitchell with Quirk Social.
Participants can grab a ticket online and make their way through the 19 participating businesses. They’ll be treated to samples from menus and special creations made just for the event.
“A lot of them end up doing way more than just a small sample,” says Mitchell.
“There’s a really good variety this year, including some new spots that we’re excited about.”
Businesses taking part include Cochrane Coffee Traders, Found Books & Shop, Horse Creek Candy, Gifts and Chocolate Shoppe, Jaipur India Cuisine, Mehtab East Indian Cuisine, My Greek Plate, Potpourri Bistro, Still Water Tea, TasteTea, The Beer Den, The Boot, The Shire Pub, The Social Spot Marketplace and Vinestone.
Mitchell says many of the locations are within walking distance, making it easy to take in multiple stops in one afternoon.
“With the weather looking great, it’s a fun activity to do with friends, a date or the kids.”
Attendees who visit at least eight locations can enter to win gift cards donated by local businesses.
“That way you can come back another day and enjoy a full meal at one of the restaurants,” Mitchell says.
Tickets are still available, including discounted group bundles and kids’ tickets. Once purchased, all tasting samples are included in the price.
“It’s such a great day to try new things and support local,” Mitchell says. “You’ll leave full and probably discover a new favourite.”
Taste of Cochrane runs Saturday, October 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
