Cochrane’s second annual Singles Week is here and promises a week of exciting events designed to help local singles connect in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
The festivities kick off with Trivia Night at Half Hitch Brewing on Tuesday, January 14. “It’s a low-pressure way to meet people,” says Kailey Mitchell of Quirk Social.
“You’re placed in teams, so you get to socialise with new faces while having fun.” Tickets include trivia games, door prizes, and one drink, with delicious bites and craft beer available for purchase.
Next up is the Match & Mingle at Found Books on Wednesday, January 15. The evening features icebreaker games and the unique “Pitch a Friend”.
“Pitch a Friend has gotten really big in the States. They do these events where people actually make a PowerPoint presentation of their friend and then they stand up there and pitch their friend.”

The week wraps up with Bowling Night on Friday, January 17, an event that was a crowd favourite last year. “We’ll switch up teams throughout the night to encourage mingling,” she says. “It’s a fantastic way to meet new people in a lively, casual setting.”
Last year’s Singles Week was a success, with one couple still together after meeting during the event.
“It’s proof that you never know who you’ll connect with,” says Mitchell. “Whether you find love or a new hiking buddy, it’s all about getting off the apps and meeting people face-to-face.”
Tickets for each event must be purchased in advance. “We’re hoping to see even more singles come out this year.”
