Cochranites who are on the lookout for love will have the chance to find a new connection at the first-ever Singles Week.
Happening from January 23-27, the week will be filled with activities that includes games, exciting prizes from local businesses, and you might just discover your perfect match.
“Singles Week aims to unite Cochrane singles in enjoyable and laid-back activity settings with the intention to foster connections that could blossom into friendship or love interests,” says Kailey Mitchell, with Quirk Social, “It’s time to get off those pesky dating apps and meet people in the real world. Let’s face it, you’re not going to leave any more single than you arrive!”
Mitchell says they’ve hosted Speed Friending events in the past and considered hosting Speed Dating but opted for this style of event instead.
“There are five different nights, five different activities, so bringing single people together to do an activity. We’ll put them on teams and everybody plays and it gives you the opportunity to meet other single people without the pressure of a speed dating set up.”
“You know everyone there is going to be single, that way you’re not going to the bar and you’re not trying to guess, and you’re getting off the dating apps, and just having that opportunity to potentially meet somebody at one of these events who lives locally and who obviously has a similar interest to you as well if they’re attending.”
Tuesday: Trivia Night at Rockyview Brewing – Test your knowledge and meet fellow singles at Rockyview Brewing for a fun-filled trivia night.
Wednesday: LGBTQ+ Karaoke Night at Found Books and Shop – Sing your heart out and enjoy the lively atmosphere at Found Books and Shop during our inclusive karaoke night.
Thursday: Wine Mixer at Vinestone – Savor exquisite wines and mingle with other singles at Vinestone during our Wine Mixer event.
Friday: Bowling at Cochrane Lanes – Strike up conversations and enjoy a night of friendly competition with bowling at Cochrane Lanes. Saturday: Mix and Mingle at Canadian Brewhouse – Join us for a casual mix and mingle at Canadian Brewhouse, the perfect setting to make new connections.
